Poppy seeds come from a yellowish-brown opium plant native to the Mediterranean. They have been cultivated since the 6th century. Nowadays these tiny blue-grey seeds are mainly produced in Holland and Canada.?Poppy seeds have a nutty-tasting flavour and are mainly used in baking.?
