Pimary welcomes the first artist-in-residence, Imme van Haak, born and raised in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Her ongoing project “Beyond the Body”, a video installation featuring moving human body printed onto translucent silk, creates the possibility of physicality layering different bodies, ages, genders and identities.

Imme graduated in 2010 at the academy of arts in Arnhem. Following this, she moved to London to being studying a master in product design at the Royal College of Art graduated in 2012. Currently she’s living in Hong Kong.




Pimary is a lifestyle concept space located in a hidden greenery in Tai Po, New Territories of Hong Kong. Pimary advocates a slow living attitude that embraces positivity and sustainability.

Our artist residency program opens opportunities for artists around the world to reside at Pimary for creation, idea exchange, experimentation and collaborative resources anchored on the belief of Pimary. We treasure like minds so artistic medium such as painting, sculpture, photography, video, music, poetry and multi-disciplines are all welcomed. In addition to creating and developing their own artworks, artists are encouraged to “open studio” and to share their creative process/ research with local community in form of small exhibition, workshop, talk, film screening, performance or whatever suitable and creative means.

Application must be submitted at least 2 months prior to the planned stay for consideration and necessary arrangement.
